Objectives

Industrial Automation and Control Engineering at the National University of Quilmes (UNQ) intends to train professionals who are able to control and optimize industrial processes.

The UNQ’s academic proposal allows graduate students to plan, build, maintain and manage industrial systems and components from both a scientific and a technological point of view.

Program

In order to receive the Industrial Automation and Control Engineer Degree, students must first receive their Diploma in Science and Technology (150 credits) and pass the higher level of education (288 credits), in accordance with this chart:
:: Basic level subjects (172 credits/1,548 hours in total)
:: Specialization level subjects (60 credits/540 hours in total)
:: One complementary subject (8 credits/72 hours in total)

Students will also need to complete a final work (24 credits/216 hours in total), which can be:
:: An Engineering project
:: A qualified internship
:: A research paper

In all cases, students will have to defend their thesis orally and openly, according to the chosen modality.

Industrial Automation and Control Engineering graduate students must complete a minimum of 3,750 hours of classes. If necessary, students will have to take extra classes from the Diploma in Science and Technology course of study, in order to make up for the missing hours.

Graduate Students Education

The Industrial Automation and Control Engineering Degree obtained at the UNQ enables graduate students to:
:: Study, plan and install production plants and lines
:: Interpret, analyze and simulate physical processes in order to be able to control or optimize them later
:: Plan and design industrial equipment, taking into account not only its automation, control and optimization, but also its safety, hygiene and operability
:: Participate in legal, economic and financial engineering matters, by arbitration, technical expertise and specialized valuation
