Certified and qualified as “Bn” (Very
Good) by the National University Evaluation
and Certification Committee (CONEAU for its
initials in Spanish). Resolution N° 312-CONEAU-2001
Head
Dr. Daniel Alonso
The Major in Basic and Applied Sciences is based on a thorough Doctorate
course of study, founded on the development of original projects. Each
academic unit supports its own teachers and researchers, and the research
work of each future doctor is done within the unit’s infrastructure.
The Doctorate course of study is mainly focused on the students’ personalized
and flexible follow-up; students enter an existing research team and develop
their suggested working plans along with their directors.
The Doctorate Committee monitors the students’ activities on a regular
basis. It is one of the course’s requirements that students take
and pass some specialization courses related to their research work.
Together with their directors, students submit the taken courses for the
Committee’s consideration, and the Committee assigns credits according
to the thematic pertinence criteria, the courses’ academic level
and the students’ training.
Students must also demonstrate having completed their specialization courses
before submitting and defending their doctoral thesis and no later than
the deadline specified in the valid regulations. |
